With its many hiking and walking trails, the Hohe Wand Nature Park is the ideal excursion destination for the whole family.
Children love hiking when there is something to experience. It's easy in the witches' forest, where colorful stones point the way to various play stations...
The motto here is: marvel and discover instead of grumbling and complaining!
Your hikes in the Vienna Alps should be a completely enjoyable and safe experience. Please therefore pay attention to the following:
Preparation
Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your experience and fitness. Check the weather report in advance. The weather in the mountains can change surprisingly quickly. Always set out appropriately equipped (e.g. rain protection).
Check if the hut and snack stations you want to visit on the way are open. Inform someone about your choice of route and your planned return before you start.
Always take suitable maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes adapted to the route, bring sun and rain protection, as well as water and a snack. Take your mobile phone with you and save the emergency number of the mountain rescue: 140
The path starts at the petting zoo. We continue to the village square/Köhlerplatz and then follow the signpost "Witch's Forest" to the right. At the passage with the colorful stones, our hike through the Witch's Forest begins. Now it's the children's turn, because the colorful stones show the way, which leads crisscross through the forest. With some luck, we even find the secret of the Witch's Forest, the gingerbread house, and the Bromberg witch...
