Our mission statement

The Hohe Wand Nature Park develops and preserves the cultural landscape together with and for the people. We contribute to the conservation of regional biodiversity, implement measures to enhance biodiversity, and are committed to the four-pillar philosophy (conservation, recreation, education and regional development) of nature parks in Austria. In our activities, we build on our regional roots and close cooperation with the local community and the province of Lower Austria. We regard

projects for the protection of endangered species and the preservation of diversity and beauty through the sustainable use of this unique cultural landscape as core tasks of the nature conservation pillar. We encourage visitors to treat nature with respect and raise their awareness of our natural treasures.

We aim to introduce our visitors to the Hohe Wand Nature Park as a place of well-being offering attractive, nature-based recreational opportunities. The nature park’s diverse facilities offer peace and tranquillity, as well as excitement and activity for both younger and older visitors.

Our educational programmes are characterised by a passion for nature; they are innovative and tailored to the respective target groups. Well-trained nature guides facilitate unique nature experiences and foster a sense of connection with the nature park. They strengthen the bond with and awareness of nature and the environment.

As an attractive partner in the Vienna Alps, we provide impetus for the region, promote regional cooperation and thus contribute to the long-term improvement of quality of life and value creation in this nature park region. We cooperate with local businesses to expand the range of activities on offer in the region.
